Domaine de Vernus Morgon 2022
Domaine de Vernus’ Morgon 2022 is a beautifully expressive Cru Beaujolais made from Gamay vines averaging 67 years old grown on two separate plots: One with volcanic and the other with rocky, alluvial soils. The fruit is 80% destemmed and naturally fermented with wild yeasts (no carbonic maceration here!), before aging ten months 80% in used oak, 20% in stainless steel.
Cru Morgon has a deserved reputation for its intense expression of Terroir, and this one is no exception: Decant or open a few hours beforehand to unfurl the lovely white flower and forest-floor aromas. On the palate, it’s delicate and round in texture, yet delivers crisp red fruit with a teasing touch of bitterness—classic finesse and elegance wrapped in Morgon’s signature charm. This Gamay can be enjoyed now or cellared for 5–10 years, making it an ideal companion for roasted poultry, mushroom dishes, or a cozy evening by the fire.
