A native varietal of Friuli, Schioppettino was cultivated for centuries in Cialla and in the neighbouring area of Prepotto. It was almost completely destroyed by phylloxera in the middle of the nineteenth century, but was resurected from the few remaining vines by Paolo and Dina Rapuzzi of Ronchi di Cialla in the 1970s.

Soft and bright red fruit characteristics paired with white pepper and tobacco leaf notes, all carried by an elegant, almost creamy body and delicious acidity.
